Used Audi S5 for Sale in Stoke-on-Trent

About the Audi S5

The Audi S5 Sportback is the five-door hatchback version of the S5, the performance model in Audi's A5 range. It sits above the standard A5 Sportback and below the RS5 in the line-up. The examples listed here are from 2013 to 2016, from the first generation of the S5 Sportback, which was sold alongside the coupe and convertible versions. The Black Edition is a dressed-up trim of this model, with darker exterior styling.

The engine is the 3.0 TFSI, a supercharged V6 petrol unit that gives the S5 strong, flexible performance with a smooth, refined delivery. Power is sent to all four wheels through Audi's quattro four-wheel drive system, and most examples use a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Owners tend to praise the engine's pulling power, the sure-footed handling in poor weather, and the quality of the interior, which feels solid and well put together for a car of this age. The Sportback body gives more practical load space than the coupe, which suits buyers who need a usable boot as well as a fast, premium car.

When checking a used S5, look for a full service history with regular oil changes, as the supercharged V6 benefits from good maintenance. Ask about the S tronic gearbox, making sure gear changes are smooth and there are no warning lights or hesitation. Check the quattro system and tyres for even wear, and look for signs of accident damage or poor repairs. Test the electrical systems, including the infotainment and driver aids, since faults in these areas can be costly. Premium running costs such as tyres, brakes and servicing should be factored in, but for buyers who want a fast, comfortable and capable hatchback, the S5 is well worth considering.
