About the Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a mid-size executive saloon, launched in 2015 as Alfa's return to the segment dominated by the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. It was built from 2015 and is the model that the cars on this page date from, with examples from 2016 to 2020. It is a four-door saloon with a sporty, driver-focused character, sitting above the smaller Giulietta in Alfa's range.

Two engine families appear on the cars listed here. The 2.2 turbo diesel comes in 150, 180 and 190hp outputs across the Super and Speciale trims, and is the choice for buyers covering high mileage. The 2.0 turbo petrol is offered in 200hp and 280hp forms, with the 280hp Veloce the most performance-oriented version in this group. The Nero Edizione is a dark-trimmed special edition on the 200hp petrol. Trim names matter when comparing prices, so check exactly which version you are looking at.

Owners tend to praise the steering, the chassis balance and the way the car feels on a winding road, along with its strong styling and the quality of the interior materials. Rear-seat space and ride firmness on some versions are common points of criticism, so take a test drive over varied roads.

When viewing a used Giulia, look for a full service history, ideally with Alfa Romeo specialist work, and check the electrical systems, infotainment and key fob. On diesels, ask about DPF regeneration and how the car has been used. Confirm MOT and recall history, and check the tyres and brakes, which can wear faster on a performance car.
